ACCES Employment hosts Grow With Google
ACCES Employment was pleased to host a joint training and mentoring event with Google on July 16th and 17th at our Mississauga and North York locations. Over 30 jobseekers from our Women in Technology and Sales and Marketing Connections programs had the opportunity to learn about the different tools that Google has to offer to help with their job search. They also had a chance to learn more about the Grow with Google platform. Further, jobseekers also received one-on-one mentoring from Google staff volunteers, receiving advice about the importance of networks, tailoring your job search, keeping organized while applying to jobs online and continued career growth.
Google generously brought Chromebooks and kits for each attendee to use for the two-day period. These resources gave participants easy access to the Grow with Google platform where they gained valuable hands-on digital training experience through this free Google learning tool. Launched in 2017, Grow with Google is an online learning platform open to everyone to help individuals succeed in an increasingly digital economy. Google also provides in-person hands-on training in communities across the country through partner agencies like ACCES Employment.
We look forward to many more educational and engaging sessions with Google across all ACCES locations throughout the GTA. The training was highly helpful and valuable for newcomer jobseekers looking to start their careers in Canada.
