In addition to the frequently asked questions below, you are welcome to call any of our ACCES Employment locations for more information. The questions below are meant as a general guide to our services and programs.

ACCES Employment provides job search services entirely free-of-charge through physical locations in the Greater Toronto Area only (Ontario, Canada).  We provide some online services to pre-arrival clients internationally who are already approved to come to Canada.

General Inquiries

How do I get started?

You can visit the ACCES Employment location nearest to you and meet with an Employment Consultant. The Employment Consultant will provide an assessment of your job search needs and advise on which services, programs and workshops are available to you.

Do I have to pay a fee to attend ACCES Employment programs or services?

As a not-for-profit charitable organization, we offer employment programs and services that are free of charge. Some sector-specific programs have a fee that is eligible for financial reimbursement through an Ontario government bursary.

Do I have to be a Canadian citizen to use ACCES Employment services and programs?

You do not have to be a Canadian citizen, but you have to be eligible to work in Canada.

Where does ACCES Employment get their funding?

ACCES Employment receives funding from all levels of government, corporate sponsors and donors, the United Way Toronto and York Region and other sources.

Do you provide assistance with getting foreign credentials and licenses recognized?

We will assist you by connecting you to the resources for foreign credentials and license recognition. ACCES can refer you to a credential assessment organization:

ACCES Employment Sector Specific Bridging Programs

ACCES Employment currently offers bridging programs in the financial services, sales and marketing, information technology, supply chain, human resources, leadership, and engineering sectors. These programs are offered to individuals following an assessment of suitability and eligibility by an Employment Consultant. For more information, please visit an ACCES Employment location.

What is the process for determining my eligibility for the program?

Please visit an ACCES Employment location to speak with an Employment Consultant to determine your eligibility for the program. If you are eligible, you will be invited to attend an information workshop to assist with your decision to enroll in the program.

What are the educational requirements for attending a bridging program?

You must have at least a Bachelor’s degree to attend.

Does this program offer job placements?

We support our clients in securing employment in their field or related field following the program. We have specialized Outreach and Job Development staff who assist with finding good opportunities for our clients.
