Connecting to Careers in Construction: Pre-Apprenticeship Training is a free, 16-week program designed to prepare individuals for careers in the skilled trades. The program includes an 8-week paid placement and focuses on developing essential employment readiness skills to support entry into apprenticeship and career pathways in the construction industry. The Connecting Canada project helps newcomers start their career and settlement journey in smaller, urban and rural (SUR) communities across Canada. As more newcomers hear about opportunities to live, work, and grow in communities outside of major metropolitan areas before arriving, more can choose to start their Canadian journeys there. Health English Language Pro (HELP) creates partnerships between newcomer physicians and experienced volunteer physicians with a focus on helping newcomers practice medical terminology in English and familiarize themselves with Canadian healthcare communication and systems.
