Lucille D’Souza is a senior legal and business leader with extensive experience in regulatory law, corporate governance, strategic leadership, and organizational transformation. Over a distinguished 24-year career at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Lucille held a variety of senior legal and executive leadership roles, including Vice-President and Associate General Counsel for Strategy & Operations and Head of the Subsidiary Governance Office, a global centre of governance expertise supporting legal professionals across eight locations worldwide.
Throughout her career, Lucille advised on regulatory matters, complex mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, intellectual property, procurement and strategic initiatives. She also led efforts to strengthen governance practices, operational effectiveness and innovation. A strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, she co-chaired RBC Law Group’s Diversity Committee and was recognized with a Lexpert Zenith Award for Diversity Action by In-House Legal Departments.
Lucille is privileged to have worked with ACCES Employment for many years and currently serves as Co-Chair of its Board of Directors. She is committed to advancing ACCES’s mission of connecting job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities and supporting employers in building diverse, inclusive and skilled workplaces. She brings to the Board a wealth of legal, governance and leadership experience, along with a strong belief based on her own family’s immigrant experience, in the importance of creating opportunities for individuals to contribute their talents and achieve their full potential contributing to a stronger Canadian society.
Lucille earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria. She was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 1998.
