TRIEC Mentoring Community Partner of the Year Award

ACCES Wins Inaugural Mentoring Community Partner of the Year Award for Immigration Employment

Toronto, November 25, 2019

ACCES Employment has been honoured as the Mentoring Community Partner of the Year. The award is being shared between ACCES Employment, JVS Toronto and Sheridan College and was presented by the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC). This is the first time the organization is recognizing its community partners in its Mentoring Partnership program.

According to TRIEC’s Executive Director, Margaret Eaton, the award “recognizes performances in the following key areas: matches, employment outcomes and mentee satisfaction rates.” As such, ACCES has been TRIEC’s most successful partner in these critical areas and is always looking to improve employment outcomes for immigrants in the program.

TRIEC and ACCES Employment have worked in collaboration for over 15 years on the Mentoring Partnership Program. The program pairs recent immigrant professionals with mentors working in their field. Impressively, 75% of mentees find a job in their field within 1 year of being in the program.

“We are very happy to win this award as Mentoring Community Partner of the Year. The success we’ve had with TRIEC points to the important work being done by both organizations,” says Alison Pond, CEO of ACCES Employment. “Fostering talent and connecting people to the right opportunities not only makes a difference in the lives of individuals, but also boosts Canada’s labour market performance and economy.”
