Last month, our very own Sue Sadler, Senior VP of Services and Program Innovation, represented ACCES Employment on the global stage as part of a SSHRC-funded and Carleton University-led initiative focused on migration and integration.
Sue joined scholars, civil society leaders, and Canadian government representatives in Poland and Kazakhstan to share Canada’s experience supporting newcomers—highlighting the critical role organizations like ACCES Employment play in helping refugees and immigrants successfully integrate into the workforce. From a workshop at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics exploring the arrival of Ukrainian refugees to meetings in Astana and Almaty on labour market integration, Sue brought ACCES’s insights into conversations shaping global migration policy. We’re pleased to contribute to this important dialogue and reminded that the work we do every day—supporting newcomers to build meaningful careers and futures—is not just local, but part of a global effort.
Thank you to Dr. Martin Geiger, Associate Professor of Politics of Migration and Mobility at Carleton University; Corinne Prince, retired Director General at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada / Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada, as well as Dr. Marta Pachocka, Assistant Professor at SGH Warsaw School of Economics and Centre of Migration Research of the University of Warsaw, and Dr. Muslim Khassenov, Associate Professor – Maqsut Narikbayev University, for including us in this meaningful initiative.
