Trades Connections - ACCES Employment

The Trades Connections program offers sector specific and essential skills training designed to support jobseekers interested in a career in the trades. The program will increase your knowledge about apprenticeships and employment opportunities in the construction and manufacturing industries. This program is delivered virtually with a focus on York Region residents, newcomers and youth.

7 Week Program
Delivered virtually with focus on York Region residents, newcomers and youth
In person training delivered at Ontario Masonry Training Centre
Industry-recognized certification in WHMIS, Forklift, Working at Heights, Propane Handling, Elevated Work Platforms and Health & Safety
Soft Skills Solutions training and certification
Essential skills for construction trades delivered through online workshops and training modules
Training selection tailored to client need and industry demand
Information about apprenticeship pathways, and requirements for entering the construction sector
Future skills training including creative problem solving, workplace communication, and growth mindset

Effective job search strategies including market research techniques, resume development, interview skills and targeting your job search to companies that require your specific skills and experience

Program Eligibility

CLB Level 5 or higher
No previous industry experience in the construction and manufacturing sectors
Age requirement is 18+
Must reside in Ontario
