Electrical Engineering Connections is an Ontario-wide online bridge to work program designed to support internationally trained electrical engineering professionals with their integration into the Canadian labour market. This online program is delivered in partnership with Humber College and supported by the Government of Ontario.

To be eligible for the program, clients must reside in Ontario and hold valid Permanent Residence status etc. in Canada. See program full eligibility criteria for details.

Program Components

  • Overview of the Ontario Electrical Code and Standards, Health & Safety Codes and Standards, Applications of Measuring Instruments, Industrial Automation in Ontario Energy Systems and Electrical Equipment in Ontario
  • Academic training from a recognized educational institute
  • Business communication and workplace culture training in a Canadian context
  • One-to-one support from an Employment Consultant who is knowledgeable about the sector

Program Eligibility

  • CLB 7 or higher preferred
  • Post-secondary education in relevant field  (degree or diploma in electrical engineering)
  • Permanent Residence, Convention Refugee, or Refugee Claimant with 1 year work permit, Naturalized Canadian Citizen
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical engineering experience from outside of Canada
  • Must reside in Ontario

Program Fees

The fee for this program is $500 + HST. This offsets a portion of the Humber College academic component.
