The Cybersecurity Connections program helps internationally trained IT professionals find work in their sector in Canada. Participants gain a better understanding of Canadian workplace culture, cybersecurity concepts, Canadian industry best practices for information security and key security concepts. 

To be eligible for the program, clients must hold valid Permanent Residence status etc. in Canada. Cybersecurity Connections program is currently being offered in Toronto, Vancouver and Halifax. Clients must reside in the city the program is being offered to participate. See program eligibility for additional details.

Program Components

  • 8 week program 
  • Access to online cybersecurity modules curated by a recognized provider 
  • Orientation to the cybersecurity industry in Canada 
  • Business and workplace communication training in a Canadian context 
  • One-to-one support from an Employment Consultant who is knowledgeable about the sector

Program Eligibility

  • Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 6 or higher preferred
  • Permanent Resident, Convention Refugee or Naturalized Canadian Citizen
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree related to IT from outside of Canada
  • Work experience in IT or cybersecurity field outside of Canada
