Human Resources (HR) Connections: Strategies for the Canadian Workplace helps internationally trained human resources professionals to find work in Canada. It builds on your previous human resources expertise by providing an orientation to your sector in Canada. The program is in partnership with HRPA and Sheridan College.

To be eligible for the program, clients must reside in Ontario.

Program Components

  • 7-week program 
  • Academic training provided by Sheridan College 
  • Business and workplace communication training in a Canadian context 
  • CHRP/CHRL Knowledge Exam and CHRP/CHRL Employment Law Exam preparation workshops
  • Experiential Learning 
  • Future Skills Training 
  • One-to-one support from an Employment Consultant who is knowledgeable about the sector 

Human Resources Connections is funded by the Government of Ontario and delivered in partnership with Sheridan College and supported by HRPA.

Program Eligibility

  • CLB Level 8 or higher preferred
  • Post-secondary education in relevant field
  • Permanent Residence, Convention Refugee, or Refugee Claimant with 1 year Canadian work permit
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in human resources outside of Canada (with no relevant Canadian work experience)
  • Have not been away from the field for a period longer than three years
  • Must reside in Ontario

  • October 28 – December 13, 2024

Program Fees

The fee for this program is $565.  This offsets a portion of the Sheridan College academic component.
