Engineering Connections is designed to support internationally trained engineering professionals to succeed in the Canadian labour market. The program is delivered in partnership with Humber College and Seneca College and provides participants with important insights into Canadian workplace culture, engineering codes and standards, the Canadian project management environment, and professional licensing in Ontario.

TWO PROGRAM STREAMS:

Workplace Essentials for Engineers – ELT (WEE)

Labour Market Access – Job Search (LMA)

To be eligible for the program, clients must reside in Ontario (GTA and proximity) and hold valid Permanent Residence status, etc. in Canada. See program full eligibility criteria for details.

Program Components

  • 6 week program
  • Academic training from a recognized educational institution on topics such as Engineering Codes and Standards, Health and Safety, Project Management
  • Employment preparation and job search support, including various job search tools
  • One-to-one support from an Employment Consultant who is knowledgeable about the sector
  • Business and workplace communication training in a Canadian context

Program Eligibility

  • CLB 7 or higher preferred (for ELT, CLB 5/6)
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering from outside Canada
  • Permanent Residence, Convention Refugee
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the engineering field from outside Canada
  • Must reside in Ontario (GTA or proximity)
