Human Resources (HR) Connections: Strategies for the Canadian Workplace helps internationally trained human resources professionals to find work in Canada. It builds on your previous human resources expertise by providing an orientation to your sector in Canada. The program is in partnership with HRPA and Sheridan College.

To be eligible for the program, clients must reside in Ontario and hold valid Permanent Residence status etc. in Canada. See program full eligibility criteria for details.

Program Components

7-week program
Academic training provided by Sheridan College
Business and workplace communication training in a Canadian context
CHRP/CHRL Knowledge Exam and CHRP/CHRL Employment Law Exam preparation workshops
Experiential Learning
Future Skills Training
One-to-one support from an Employment Consultant who is knowledgeable about the sector

Human Resources Connections is funded by the Government of Ontario and delivered in partnership with Sheridan College and supported by HRPA.

Program Eligibility

CLB Level 8 or higher preferred
Post-secondary education in relevant field
Permanent Residence, Convention Refugee, or Refugee Claimant with 1 year Canadian work permit
Minimum 2 years of experience in human resources outside of Canada (with no relevant Canadian work experience)
Have not been away from the field for a period longer than three years
Must reside in Ontario
