The program funded by the Government of Ontario, through the Skills Development Fund, empowers IEHPs with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to navigate career pathways, overcome employment barriers, and access meaningful opportunities within Ontario’s healthcare workforce.

Participants receive comprehensive, individualized support, including:

  • Personalized career guidance and healthcare career pathway planning
  • Skills development and training aligned with Ontario’s healthcare labour market needs
  • Connections with healthcare employers and community partners, including opportunities with employers participating in wage subsidy initiatives that support hiring and on-the-job training
  • Professional mentorship from experienced healthcare industry professionals
  • Personalized employment and career support to help participants achieve their goals, including services that address barriers to training and employment
  • Increased readiness for employment in Ontario’s healthcare sector
  • IEHP seeking to build or advance a career in Northern Ontario’s healthcare sector
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada (e.g., Canadian citizen, permanent resident, convention refugee, or refugee claimant with a valid work permit of at least one year)
  • English language skills equivalent to CLB 7 or higher
  • Motivated to enhance skills, expand professional networks, and successfully integrate into Ontario’s healthcare workforce
