Engineering Connections is designed to support internationally trained engineering professionals to succeed in the Canadian labour market. The program is delivered in partnership with Humber Polytechnic and provides participants with important insights into Canadian workplace culture, engineering codes and standards, the Canadian project management environment, and professional licensing in Ontario.
To be eligible for the program, clients must reside in Ontario (GTA or proximity) and meet the required immigration and residency status. Please see the program’s full eligibility criteria for details.

Program Components
- Introduction to Engineering Codes and Standards, as well as Health and Safety Codes
- Introduction to project management, estimation, and contracting.
- Seminars on Professional Engineers Ontario (P. Eng) licensing process
- Access to IBM SkillsBuild learning platform
- Employment preparation and job search support, including resume writing, interview preparation, social media, and cold calling
- Gain insight into the hidden job market and labour market research
- Canadian workplace culture and communication training
- Referrals to job openings and connections to employers
- Invitations to attend professional engineering events
- One-on-one coaching and job retention support (as needed)

Program Eligibility
- Internationally trained Engineering professionals
- Permanent Resident or Conventional Refugee status in Canada
- Language requirements: Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 6 and above
- Must reside in GTA or in proximity
- Recent and relevant engineering experience outside Canada
